Sleepy Moose is on half an acre, surrounded by tall pine trees, and backs up to the national forest. It is a unique cabin located in the heart of Hochatown. All the timber elements, both indoors and outdoors, feature live edge, and solid log construction. The stairs, in particular, have been crafted using 1/2 logs for a unique and rustic touch. The property is adorned with vibrant ferns and meticulously landscaped. In the evening, the entire property is beautifully illuminated by landscape lighting, creating a truly breathtaking sight.
Nestled in the National Forest Boundary area, our charming cabin is a beacon of warmth and welcome amid nature's embrace. Perfect for those who crave both adventure and moments of peace.
Upon entering the cabin, you will be captivated by the expansive windows, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, and rustic wood posts and accents. The open floor plan seamlessly connects the living room, kitchen, and dining area. The living room features comfortable seating and a large flat-screen TV with streaming capabilities. The fully equipped kitchen comes with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, all the cooking essentials you'll need to prepare a delicious meal, and an Opal nugget ice maker. The kitchen island seats 6 and the dining area seats 4, perfect for intimate dinners or game nights. Welcome to the "wasp season" from November to December and early spring! During chilly nights and early mornings, followed by warm days, wasps tend to gather on rooftops in search of warmth. While it doesn't necessarily mean there's a wasp nest in the house, they are essentially in hibernation mode, seeking cozy spots.
Generally, they won't bother you much, but we kindly ask you to keep the cabin doors and windows shut to prevent them from entering. Just a heads-up: there's wasp spray conveniently located under the kitchen sink in case you need it, but do not spray over the furniture!
Stay buzz-free and enjoy your time in the cabin!
Please note that this is a forested area and there are times when the Oklahoma Forestry Service enforces a burning ban in the area. Fines can be upwards of $1000. Please check online for the current burn ban status before using the outdoor firepit.

About the Owner
Meet Britt and Shannon, a couple who have shared a deep love for the great outdoors and Broken Bow since they tied the knot in 2001. They've instilled this passion in their two children, now aged 11 and 12, and are now living their dream of owning a cabin in their favorite Oklahoma destination. Originally from Flower Mound, Texas, they frequently journey to Broken Bow/Hochatown whenever their busy lives allow. Due to their children's involvement in activities like soccer, violin, and karate, they've decided to share their cherished cabin during the times they're unable to visit themselves. Britt and Shannon sincerely hope that you'll relish your stay at their cabin as much as they do.
